Northern Ireland is set to host for the first time in history a round in the World Superbike championship. Starting from 2019, Lake Torrent Circuit will host a race in the championship.

At the moment, the circuit is not built yet. Fortunatelty enough, Lake Torrent Circuit will be ready in 18 months time, just in time to host the World Superbike Championship.

Northern Ireland has an enourmous motorcycling tradition. In the past, Ulster hosted a MotoGP round and also has the notorious Ulster 200 TT race. In the present, Jonathan Rea, which is from Northern Ireland, is the current three times World Superbike champion with Kawasaki.

The 2018 WorldSBK will commence at  Phillip Island, on February 24.
