Jeffrey Herlings will make his AMA debut this weekend at Ironman. The Dutch rider will ride for KTM as they are trying to help Marvin Musquin winning bid for the national championship in the 450cc.

Aged 22, Herlings, made his professional debut in 2010, in MX2. In 2011, he was involved in one of the greatest battles for the MX2 world championship with Ken Roczen. Afterwards, The Bullet won three world championships in MX2 (2012, 2013, 2016).

At the beginning of this season he moved to MXGP. He started his season badly, struggling with an injury, but managed to rose up to second in the championship. So far, he scored 530 points, 101 less than the championship leader, Tony Cairoli.

The Ironman round will be held on August 26 and will decide who will win the AMA Pro Motocross national championship in the 450cc. Eli Tomac, Marvin Musquin and Blake Baggett have a mathematical chance to win the championship.
