Thirteen times world champion, Angel Nieto, passed away this afternoon following a traffic incident in which he was involved earlier this week.
Nieto, aged 70, was riding his quad when a car hit his quad. He suffered severe head injuries and was placed in an induced coma. Unfortunately, this afternoon, he succumbed and passed away.
Angel Nieto is the most laureated spanish rider in history, with 13 world championship, all of them in the lower categories. Also, he has the record for the biggest period between the first title, won in 1969 and the last title, won in 1984.
